On the morning of May 6, 2025, the activity titled \u201cConnecting Partner Agencies in Climate Change Education and Agricultural Climate Services\u201d was held at the University of Agriculture and Forestry \u2013 Thai Nguyen University. The event was organized by the Institute of Forestry and Sustainable Development (IFS) in collaboration with CIFOR-ICRAF Vietnam.<\/p>\n

The activity welcomed the participation of leaders and staff from the Departments of Agriculture and Environment, the Department of Ethnic and Religious Affairs, the Thai Nguyen Farmers\u2019 Union, along with numerous experts, officers, lecturers, and relevant local units. This activity is part of the LEARN-VN Project, aiming to establish and develop a sustainable cooperative network to respond to climate change in the agriculture and forestry sectors.<\/p>\n

In his opening speech, Prof. Dr. Nguyen The Hung, Secretary and Chairman of the University Council, emphasized the activity’s four main objectives:\u00a0Raising awareness about the LEARN-VN project among local departments and communities.\u00a0Introducing training courses on climate change, green practices, waste management, and the Climate Park experiential program.\u00a0Communicating the project’s agricultural climate services program to the local community.\u00a0Building a partner network for the LEARN-VN project in Thai Nguyen Province.<\/p>\n

Prof. Dr. Nguyen The Hung \u2013 Secretary and Chairman of the University Council of the University of Agriculture and Forestry \u2013 delivered the opening speech at the activity<\/em><\/p>\n

Dr. Nguyen Quang Tan, Country Director of CIFOR-ICRAF Vietnam, provided an overview of the LEARN-VN project, which supports Vietnam’s commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 through community capacity building and integrated climate solutions.<\/p>\n

During the event, delegates also listened to three presentations: \u201cExperiential Learning Models \u2013 Climate Park and Local Replication Potential\u201d by Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Thu Ha, Director of IFS; \u201cIntroduction to Proposed Training Courses: Content, Target Audience, Duration, Methods\u201d by Dr. Do Hoang Chung, Deputy Director of IFS; \u201cIntroduction to Agricultural Climate Services\u201d by Dr. Nguyen The Manh, LEARN-VN Project Manager.<\/p>\n

Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Thu Ha \u2013 Director of the Institute of Forestry and Sustainable Development \u2013 spoke at the activity<\/em><\/p>\n

Discussions focused on the theme: \u201cOpportunities for Collaboration between the LEARN-VN Project and Partner Agencies.\u201d Representatives from various departments and organizations actively engaged in discussions, proposing ways to integrate the project’s activities into their annual work plans and defining their roles and responsibilities within the collaboration network. The discussion addressed three strategic questions: \u201cWhat are we doing?\u201d, \u201cWhat support do we need?\u201d, <\/b><\/strong>and\u00a0\u201cWhat can we contribute?\u201d<\/b><\/strong>, clarifying effective and long-term coordination directions among the parties.<\/p>\n

At the conclusion of the workshop, an initial cooperation network was formed, with coordinators representing each agency group. Initial communication channels, such as Zalo groups and emails, were established to maintain connections, share information, and implement activities in a synchronized and effective manner in the near future.<\/p>\n
