It was officially established under Decision No. 87\/Q\u0110-\u0110HTN on January 16, 2015, by upgrading the former Northern Mountainous Forestry Research Center. The Institute is headquartered at Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry, Quyet Thang Commune, Thai Nguyen City, Thai Nguyen Province.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"510\" data-end=\"713\"><span style=\"color: #003366;\">The Institute has legal status, its own bank accounts and seal, and operates under an autonomous financial mechanism, complying with Government Decree No. 115\/N\u0110-CP dated September 5, 2005.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"715\" data-end=\"1658\"><span style=\"color: #003366;\">The Institute of Forestry Research and Development is equipped with experimental research stations, laboratories, and modern propagation facilities. It possesses advanced equipment for seed propagation, seed testing, seed storage, and forest remote sensing technology. The Institute is staffed with 80 personnel, ranging from college graduates, bachelor\u2019s and engineering degree holders to postgraduate researchers. It also includes a team of professors, associate professors, and PhD holders specializing in various fields, ensuring expertise in scientific research, application, and technology transfer in agriculture and forestry. Additionally, the Institute collaborates with leading experts from domestic and international research institutes, technical consulting centers, and universities, supporting the economic and social development of the midland and mountainous provinces of Northern Vietnam.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"1660\" data-end=\"1939\"><span style=\"color: #003366;\">As of 2016, the Institute\u2019s organizational structure includes leadership, specialized departments, and the Son Duong Experimental Station.
