Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Thu Ha – Director of the Institute of Forestry and Sustainable Development, shared her remarks at the meeting
Following this activity, on August 21, 2025, the SLE Young Researchers Group, in collaboration with the Institute of Forestry and Sustainable Development (IFS), conducted a field trip to the Thai Hai Ethnic Stilt House Cultural and Ecological Conservation Area, Tan Cuong Commune, Thai Nguyen Province, guided by Prof. Nguyen The Hung, Dr. Hoang Quy Nhan, and researchers from the Climate Park.
The Thai Hai Stilt House Village is a unique cultural–ecological destination, preserving the traditional values of the Tay community, while also serving as a model of ecotourism development linked with nature conservation and climate change adaptation.
The field trip provided young researchers with opportunities to observe, learn from practice, and gain insights into indigenous knowledge – invaluable lessons beyond the classroom. The group also took interest in local agroforestry models, applications of renewable energy, and community-led initiatives for sustainable development.
This field activity and academic exchange not only contributed to strengthening understanding of the cultural–ecological identity of the Viet Bac region but also expanded the bridge of research cooperation between Humboldt University (Germany) and Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry, through the Institute of Forestry and Sustainable Development.
