1. Mission of the Institute

The Institute conducts in-depth research and technology transfer, supports training, and participates in postgraduate education in forestry, natural resource management, and environmental sciences at Thai Nguyen University. It aims to contribute to the socio-economic development of the midland and mountainous provinces of Northern Vietnam and the entire country.

2. Vision to 2035

• The Institute of Forestry Research and Development aims to be one of the leading institutes in research and technology transfer in forestry in the Northern mountainous region of Vietnam.

• It will serve as a pioneering and active core in research and technology transfer within Thai Nguyen University, aligning with market mechanisms and international integration.

• The Institute will expand into multidisciplinary research, enhance its competitiveness, and actively participate in bidding for national and international projects. It will build a strong reputation for partnerships and collaborations in research and technology transfer.

• It will establish itself as a reputable scientific and technological organization operating under a self-financed science and technology model combined with a scientific enterprise structure.

• The Institute will strengthen international cooperation with regional and global institutions to develop human resources and modern research infrastructure to support high-level scientific research.

• It will contribute to enhancing the prestige and position of the University of Agriculture and Forestry – Thai Nguyen University in education and training. The Institute will continuously provide high-quality scientific and technical personnel for the Northern mountainous provinces and the entire country, accelerating the process of industrialization and modernization in agriculture, rural areas, and farming communities.
