FACULTY OF FORESTRY

The field of forestry is currently receiving global attention due to its significant economic, social, and environmental values—especially in Vietnam, where nearly two-thirds of the land area consists of forests and forestland.

In the context of global climate change and international integration, the role of specialized forest protection personnel (forest rangers) is increasingly emphasized. Their responsibilities include: strengthening forest governance and law enforcement capacity, contributing actively to reducing deforestation and forest degradation, controlling the legal origin of forest products, enhancing the value of timber and non-timber forest products in both domestic and international markets, and participating in the development of forest environmental services.

Vietnam’s medicinal plant sector requires a workforce of engineers with integrated expertise across all stages of the product value chain—from propagation, cultivation, harvesting, processing to distribution—according to WHO standards.
