On the morning of May 13, 2026, the Conference on “Patents – A Breakthrough Driver for Innovation and the Development of the Knowledge Economy” was held at Thai Nguyen University of Technology.
The conference was organized to strengthen connections among management agencies, research institutions, universities, and enterprises in scientific research, patent registration and protection, technology transfer, and the commercialization of research outcomes. The event was attended by representatives from the Intellectual Property Office of Vietnam, leaders of the Department of Science and Technology, universities, research institutes, scientists, and research organizations across the province.
Within the framework of the conference, delegates visited exhibition spaces showcasing patents, utility solutions, and outstanding applied research results. Institute of Forestry and Sustainable Development – Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry also participated with a booth presenting the Institute’s outstanding research achievements, innovations, and scientific-technological products, attracting significant attention from conference participants.
In particular, the presentation delivered by Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Thu Ha – Director of the Institute of Forestry and Sustainable Development – received considerable attention and high appreciation from delegates. In her presentation, she shared practical experiences in developing research ideas, improving technical solutions, patent registration and protection, as well as the commercialization of inventions associated with practical demands and sustainable development.
The presentation highlighted many of the Institute’s remarkable achievements in research and innovation, including the successful development of the “super lightweight seedling pot” for forestry production; commercialization of 12 crop varieties; achievement of 15 utility solutions and 8 intellectual property copyrights. In addition, the Institute has expanded research and development cooperation with many international organizations and partners such as the EU, Finland, ASEAN, and the World Bank (WB), contributing to enhanced research capacity, technology transfer, and international integration.
The achievements shared in the presentation not only demonstrated the Institute’s strong capability in applied research and innovation, but also affirmed the leadership and strategic vision of Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Thu Ha in promoting science and technology associated with practical production, green development, and sustainability.
The Institute’s active participation in the conference further affirmed its important role and position in scientific research, innovation, and contributions to the development of science and technology in Thai Nguyen province as well as the Northern Midlands and Mountainous region of Vietnam. 🌱✨
