Recently, as part of the career orientation activities organized by the University of Agriculture and Forestry, a group of high school students from Bình Gia District, Lạng Sơn Province, visited the Institute.

During the visit, at the Institute’s Tradition Room, Mr. Dương Văn Đoàn – Deputy Director of the Institute – introduced the group to the scientific achievements that the Institute has attained over the years.

The Institute for Forestry Research and Development operates under the University of Agriculture and Forestry – Thái Nguyên University. It includes experimental research stations, laboratory systems, advanced breeding facilities, and is fully equipped with technologies for plant breeding, seed testing, seed preservation, and remote sensing technology for forestry. As of 2016, the organizational structure of the Institute consists of the Leadership Board, various departments, and the Sơn Dương Experimental Station. The Institute takes pride in its contributions to the country through the transfer of technical advancements in agricultural and forestry production. Additionally, the Institute has a team of leading experts from both domestic and international research institutes, technical transfer centers, and universities, all dedicated to supporting socio-economic development in the midland and mountainous provinces of northern Vietnam.

The future students had the opportunity to visit and learn about fascinating techniques in plant propagation through in-vitro tissue culture technology applied to medicinal and forestry plant species.

The students and teachers were also introduced to and toured the collection of rare medicinal plants at the Institute, as well as its large-scale cultivation and nationwide supply capabilities.

At the end of the visit, the young participants shared their positive impressions and aspirations, expressing how the experience aligned with their academic plans at the University of Agriculture and Forestry. They are eager to enhance their knowledge and pursue their dreams of contributing to the development of agriculture and forestry in their hometowns.
